Job Description – Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to report directly to the Senior Staff Accountant. Position Summary:

  • Monitoring Customer Accounts: Regularly review customer accounts to identify and track outstanding balances.
  • Payment Processing: Processing payments from various methods, ensuring timely and accurate application of payments.
  • Contacting Customers: Communicate with customers via phone, email, or other methods to discuss overdue payments, resolve payment discrepancies and collect outstanding balances.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports on collections activities, aging analysis, and other relevant metrics.
  • Maintaining Records: Keep accurate and detailed records of all collection activities and customer interactions.
  • Credit Management: Assisting with credit management, assessing creditworthiness, and setting credit limits.
  • Collaborating with Teams: Work with internal teams, including sales and finance, to address and resolve account issues.
  • Other Duties: Assist others in the department as needed and provide backup support as needed through cross training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Experience: 2 years previous experience in accounts receivable, collections, or a related field is required.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency with financial software (e.g., accounting software, CRM systems) and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).
  • Other Desired Qualities: Attention to detail, organizational skills, time management skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-starter with leadership potential for future growth
  • Experience with lease and service contracts is a plus
  • Experience with ECI E-automate is a plus
