10:30 – noon  Civil 3D Session (Revit Session runs concurrently):

It’s that time again, a new release of Autodesk products.  In this webinar, we will explore what is new and improved in Civil 3D 2023.  If you are still using an older version of Civil 3D, perhaps 2020 or older, it’s time to think about installing the newest version.

  • Civil 3D 2022.1 introduced a new interface for setting targets on Corridors.  This has been further enhanced in 2023 to include improved filtering options and setting targets by layer.
  • Pressure Pipes got a huge upgrade in Civil 3D 2021 with the concept of pipe runs and the ability to follow a design profile, but the profile updates in 2023 blow those away.
  • Grading Optimization contains no new features, but many improvements.  These include an updated (and now useful) help center, enhanced status bar providing more information, and problem alerts early on in an optimization that is likely to fail (no more waiting hours just to find out you made an error on slope settings).
  • Project Explorer, which allows users to view and even edit a large amount of Civil 3D information, has been updated to include the ability to add text summaries to tables, cells for totals on certain object types, and the ability to compare Point Groups, blocks, or parcels to site feature lines.
  • Overall performance enhancements, such as the background graphics engine to make use of modern GPUs and multi-core CPUs, as well as performance improvements to section views and sample line editing, event viewer, CoGo points, and new display options for Profile or Section type viewports.

Noon – 1:00  Lunch and Registration for BIM 360 Collaborate Pro

  • Create folders/subfolders
  • Upload/download content
  • Link Civil 3D data to cloud folders for integration
  • Explore Reviews and Issues
  • Look at a published Revit cloud model
  • Look at clashes in a Revit model in the cloud

2:00 – 2:30  Break and Registration for 3D Laser Scanning

2:30 – 3:30  3D Laser Scanning Session:

Featuring a live demonstration of our 3D laser scanning division workflow.  This workflow presentation will show how we capture existing data on a site, how it is processed and cleaned up and finally, how it is incorporated into Revit.  We will also provide an understanding of how to utilize the point cloud data to create new content for better existing data documentation.
