Autodesk Civil 3D for Land Desktop
and Civil Design Users
Courseware Description
This courseware covers the essentials of Autodesk® Civil 3D®. It is based on the Autodesk Civil 3D 2007: Essentials courseware with additional information that targets current Autodesk Land Desktop and Civil Design users. Concise information throughout the courseware describes how to effectively leverage knowledge and skills already developed with Autodesk Land Desktop and Civil Design. Students learn how to work with point data in Autodesk Civil 3D, how to create and analyze surfaces, how to develop a site, how to model roads, corridors, and pipe networks, how to work with survey data, and how to import and export data.
Hands-on exercises throughout the courseware explore how to create 2D and 3D production drawings.
Objectives
The primary objective of this courseware is to familiarize students with the concepts and application of the essential functions of Autodesk Civil 3D.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Import Autodesk® Land Desktop data and export Autodesk Civil 3D data
- Create points, change point styles, and manage points in groups
- Create, edit, and analyze surfaces, and view surfaces in 3D
- Create parcels and parcel tables
- Create a site, create and edit alignments, and create profiles and cross-sections
- Create assemblies, corridors, pipe networks, and cross-sections, and calculate corridor volumes
- Work with grading objects
- Using Autodesk Vault, check in and check out Autodesk Civil 3D data from the vault
- Import and work with survey data
Who Should Attend
This course is designed to teach new users the essential elements of Autodesk Civil 3D for creating, analyzing, and managing civil engineering drawings and projects.
Prerequisites
Before starting this course, students should have a working knowledge of Autodesk Land Desktop or Autodesk® Civil 3D® – Civil Design Companion. It is also recommended that the student have a working knowledge of Microsoft® Windows® XP or Microsoft® Windows® 2000.
